Letter from Liz for May '12
With the advent of summer just around the corner, I cherish the month of May in my hometown in California. The weather is sunny and just about perfect. My family celebrates several birthdays in May in addition to the traditional Mother's Day gatherings and Memorial Day Weekend Barbeques. One could say I have a lot on my plate, and if you're talking grilled steak, homemade guacamole and chips, and a mountain of berry salad, you'd be right on!
There's a saying about New York; specifically, the publishing industry based there, that is entirely contradictory to the old saying "I'm going to kick your bottom in a New York minute." The saying is "Nothing happens fast in New York." I can honestly say that rings true, as progress for my latest novel The New Orleans Way is happening slowly. I hope to check in with some good news next month. In the meantime, please plan on coming to my book signing at Barnes and Noble at Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo on June 23rd for An Affinity for Shadows. And while you're there, do pick up a copy of Our USA Magazine. This amazing magazine offers a glimpse into the lives of our fellow Americans and will be available at every Barnes and Noble throughout the country beginning with their Summer 2012 issue.
